Welcome to the 6th ELTA IATEFL International Annual Conference entitled “The Classroom that Beats the Odds” 30 May – 1 June 2008 in Sava Centre, Belgrade, organized with the support of the Ministry of Educationof the Republic of Serbia, the British Council and the American Embassy.

 

The Conference opens on Friday, 30 May at 10:00 and closes on Sunday 1 June at 15:00. There are no restrictions regarding the topics of presentations. Teacher Training, Teacher Development, Teaching Young Learners, Computer Assisted Language Learning, ESP, Business English, Literature, Media and Cultural Studies, Global Issues, Testing, Evaluation and Assessment, or any other issue that our fellow teachers choose to share with us will be covered. A special focus of the Conference will be Teacher Development SIG Day on Sunday, 1 June.

 

You are welcome to participate in plenaries, workshops and discussions and/or contribute by submitting a presentation. It is our pleasure to announce the following plenary speakers: Robert Dean, Hugh Dellar, David Hill, Lisa Harshbarger, Robert Hastings, Philip Kerr, Steve Lever, Anne O’Keeffe.

 

A major ELT Resources Exhibition will be organized displaying and promoting the latest titles for you to browse through or purchase at special conference prices. Participants will also have a chance to enjoy refreshments kindly provided by publishers and other conference sponsors during the breaks, and win some wonderful prizes.
